“Welcome to Starbucks. What can we get started for you?”

“Large coffee, black please.”

You roll up your window against the cold blast of winter air and pull forward in the drive through. As you get your card out to pay the barista informs you that your drink has been paid for by the person in front of you in line. “She just said to ‘pay it forward and have a great day!’”

Paying it Forward“Pay it forward” is an expression that describes the recipient of a gift or good deed repaying it to others instead of to the original recipient. Many people say, “its just a simple way for me to get started on my Generosity Gameplan, without getting too complicated – and besides, I’ve been so blessed.”

In 2014, over 70 countries participated in Pay It Forward day, performing random acts of kindness such as buying someone’s cup of coffee or fast food in the drive through lane, helping someone load their groceries in the car, etc. It feels good when we pay it forward or do random acts of kindness.Though often anonymous, these are still connections for good. Brief, unexpected moments of joy are always welcome, aren’t they?

Is now the time for you to read Connected for Good: A Gameplan for a Generous Life and discover how you can pay it forward in a transformational way?
